Su-15 Flagon
|
The Flagon combined the tailed delta configuration of the Su-9 with twin engines, side intakes and large radar nose. It was the first really capable all-wheater interceptor of the PVOS. A later version had a larger radar and a new wing, with reduced sweep on the outboard section and a longer span. There also was a two-seat trainer. About 1500 were built. The Su-15 became infamous when one shot down a Korean Air Lines 747. |
